4A Region III District 24 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Jordan Wood and Ryan Bertelsman provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lee. The longest such play in 4A Region III District 24 this season, the connection resulted in 72 yards.
Dawson extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ball, 56-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Friendswood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Walker Williams has 15 catches for 221 yards. Wood also leads the league in rushing with 1676 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region III District 24 this week will be when Texas City takes on the Ganders. The Stingarees are in second place, while Lee is in fourth place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Tornadoes and Friendswood face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Ball comes in having scored 47 this season, while the Mustangs have scored 404. Tony Valastro's team scored 0 points last week as it fell to Dawson.
Goose Creek Memorial moved up to 348 from 375 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Goose Creek Memorial climbed the ranks as a result of beating Galena Park 28-7.
