It was a good run, but the Moundridge Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Inman 42-38. Moundridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Inman apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Moundridge saw an underclassman step up: Hattie Hecox scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Cammi Unruh was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals and two blocks.
Moundridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Inman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moundridge will square off against Ell-Saline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Inman, they will head out on the road to take on Berean Academy on Tuesday. Berean Academy's defense has only allowed 24.2 points per game this season, so Inman's offense will have their work cut out for them.
