Softball Recap: Highland Wins Going Away Against Knight

Highland won the last time they faced Knight and things went their way on Thursday too. Highland was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Knight.

Paisley Memory was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Bella Williams was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 12 games. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Highland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Knight's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Highland and Knight will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time Highland sees the field they'll take on Antelope Valley at 3:15 p.m. on April 1. As for Knight, their break will end when they face Eastside at 3:15 p.m. on the 31st.
