The Middle College Cougars struggled with assists on Monday (the Larchmont Charter Timberwolves had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Middle College took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Larchmont Charter. Middle College lost against Larchmont Charter in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-55 score last time.
Josiah Anderson and Kaosisochukwu Udeze certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Anderson scored nine points along with nine rebounds, while Udeze scored 12 points along with three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Udeze.
Larchmont Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicolas Ojeda, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Ojeda's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cypress Williams, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
Middle College now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Larchmont Charter, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Middle College will head out on the road to face off against New West Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (New West Charter is ranked 913th, while Middle College is ranked 900th). As for Larchmont Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Animo South Los Angeles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
