It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Maumelle Hornets can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 38-14 walloping at the hands of Valley View on Friday. Maumelle's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Carson Turley had a dynamite game for Valley View, rushing for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Turley has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Tj Starks did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Maumelle's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Valley View, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Maumelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley View will be playing at home against Shiloh Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shiloh Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
