The North Union Wildcats waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 64-56 victory over Northwestern. Given North Union's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Northwestern is ranked 732nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northwestern lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Crew Estep, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Estep has scored all season. Mason McDermott was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.

Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Northwestern, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
North Union's homestand continues as they prepare to take on River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on February 13th.
