Phillips came tearing into  Thursday's  matchup with seven straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Hubbard Greyhounds as they made off with  a  13-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  23-5  on Tuesday.
 Devonna Pearson was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  earning one  run and three  stolen bases. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged three or more in each of the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  Anaja Porterfield was  incredible,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with five  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. She has been hot recently, having  posted two or more  stolen bases the last four times she's  played.  Welnesha Hall also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Phillips  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .857. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an  OBP of .667 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
Phillips pushed their record up to 8-2 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Hubbard, they now  have a losing record of 2-3-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phillips will square off against Julian at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Hubbard, they will challenge Dunbar at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The last seven games the Mightymen have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
