The Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past Craigmont with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. Given Raleigh-Egypt's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Craigmont is ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Craigmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quentin Curry, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tashun Lewis, who scored 12 points.
Raleigh-Egypt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Craigmont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Millington Central the next time they take the court. Craigmont will head out to face Millington Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Raleigh-Egypt will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
