The Crosby Cougars pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Clear Lake. While losing is never fun, Crosby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 850th, while Clear Lake is ranked 119th).
Jason Obert was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with 5 steals for Clear Lake. That makes it four consecutive games in which Obert has scored at least 25% of Clear Lake's points. Another player making a difference was Jerrick Guidry, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Crosby and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Clear Lake, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Crosby will be playing at home against Ball at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ball's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Clear Lake will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Glenn at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st.
