Trinity Presbyterian extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 4 this week by beating Central of Coosa County, 38-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Wildcats.
Midfield led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on Tarrant.
Comer's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Holmes threw for 50 and two touchdowns and Jordan Butler had 47 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Caldwell chipped in 99 yards. Brandon Knox helped Comer's passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Allen Wood of Trinity Presbyterian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1302. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Cougars' Quon Benson has rushed for 506 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Javaris Whetstone. The Central of Coosa County star has 38 catches for 483 yards.
