Even though the Homedale Trojans have not done well against the New Plymouth Pilgrims recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Homedale narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past New Plymouth 48-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Homedale.
Arlett Quezada was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Asumendi, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, New Plymouth saw an underclassman step up: Hope Hailey scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zavier Lake, who scored 6 points along with 7 steals.
Homedale now has a winning record of 3-2. As for New Plymouth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Homedale will be playing in front of their home fans against Kimberly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Plymouth, they will head out on the road to face off against Cole Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on November 30th.
