Basketball Recap: Zaire Hopson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Roselle Park

Roselle won the last time they faced Roselle Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Roselle Rams put the hurt on the Roselle Park Panthers with a sharp 57-37 win. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Roselle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaire Hopson out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Hopson has become a key player for Roselle: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jodarsen Pierre, who posted 16 points.

Roselle's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Roselle Park, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Roselle has already played their next matchup (against East Side), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Roselle Park will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American History at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
