On Friday, Kaufer was the victim of a rough 45-23 defeat at the hands of Bloomington. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kaufer has scored all season.
Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Arredondo, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten blocks. Arredondo scored a full 43.5% of Kaufer's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Myya Deneweth was another key contributor, scoring three points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Bloomington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khyli Proctor, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Proctor's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kenzi Proctor, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Kaufer and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Bloomington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Kaufer will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bloomington on Thursday. Hopefully Bloomington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
