The Albion Purple Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Akron Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Albion is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Albion pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-55 to Medina.
Meanwhile, Akron was beaten by Newfane 73-43 on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Akron in their matchups with Newfane: they've now lost four in a row.
Albion bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Akron, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Albion and Akron were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Albion came up empty-handed after a 47-46 defeat. Can Albion avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
