Softball Recap: South Fort Myers Takes a Loss

South Fort Myers had taken Island Coast down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The South Fort Myers Wolfpack came up short against the Island Coast Gators, falling 20-13. Even if the Wolfpack couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Areyona Denson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Robinson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

South Fort Myers is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Island Coast, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, South Fort Myers will venture away from home to challenge Cape Coral at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cape Coral will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Fort Myers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Island Coast, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 19-4 loss against Oasis on the 11th.
