The Savannah Country Day Hornets's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Johnson by a score of 62-54. The victory was just what Savannah Country Day needed coming off of a 75-51 loss in their prior contest.
Savannah Country Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rudy Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Anderson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Robert Spaulding iv, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Johnson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joshua Quarterman, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Quarterman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Favion Kirkwood, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Savannah Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Johnson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will take on Long County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Long County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Savannah Country Day in Georgia (Long County is ranked 128th, while Savannah Country Day is ranked 266th). As for Johnson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Savannah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
