Edwardsville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Alton Redbirds on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Edwardsville pushed their record up to 24-8 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Alton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-22.

Edwardsville has already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against O'Fallon on the 30th. Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
