The Centaurus Warriors suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Mead 62-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Centaurus has scored all season.
Zak White and Antuan Vargas certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. White scored eight points, while Vargas scored nine points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Matthew Angelo, who scored 12 points along with seven steals for Mead. Angelo hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic McLawrence, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Centaurus has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Mead, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Centaurus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Windsor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Centaurus in Colorado (Windsor is ranked 27th, while Centaurus is ranked 159th). As for Mead, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Family at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Holy Family focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
