Make it nine blowout wins for the Lapel Bulldogs this season. They blew past Muncie Central 57-13 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-6.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laniah Wills, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Wills has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Poynter, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Lapel pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Muncie Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lapel will take on University at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Lapel is ranked 49th). As for Muncie Central, they will head out on the road to take on Harrison at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
