There's no place like home for the Cienega Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They breezed by Cholla at home to the tune of 65-15. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Cienega has managed all season.
Cienega got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elizabeth Puente out in front who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Amaya Woolford, who scored nine points along with five blocks.
The victory got Cienega back to even at 8-8. As for Cholla, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cienega will take on Rincon/University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rincon/University has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cholla, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cholla in Arizona (Tucson High Magnet School is ranked 103rd, while Cholla is ranked 297th).
