After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Bullitt, the Southern Trojans were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Christian Educational Consortium and snuck past 40-38. For Southern, this counts as revenge for the 55-32 defeat Christian Educational Consortium walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Christian Educational Consortium saw an underclassman step up: Jenna Wyndham dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wyndham pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Mitchell, who scored seven points along with five blocks.
Southern pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Christian Educational Consortium, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
