The Marion Warriors lost against the Moundridge Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Marion fell to Moundridge 41-35. Marion has not had much luck with Moundridge recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Marion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grace Hett, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Hett hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Erin Regnier, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Moundridge found their leader in underclassman Cammi Unruh, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Unruh has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Kaminkow, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Moundridge, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Marion will square off against Ell-Saline at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion is facing Ell-Saline at the right time seeing as Ell-Saline is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Moundridge, they will be playing at home against Bennington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bennington will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Moundridge surely won't give up without a fight.
