Prout put another one in the bag  on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the East Greenwich Avengers  6-5. Prout had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.

 On East Greenwich's side,  Ava Fairbanks was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Fairbanks has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Fairbanks was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 In other batting news,  Brooke Fairbanks was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Catherine Neville, who  went 1-for-4 with a  home run.
 Prout pushed their record up to 7-0 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home. As for East Greenwich,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-4.
 Prout will head out on the road to  square off against  North Kingstown at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Prout is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6  runs per game  this season. As for East Greenwich, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Chariho at 4:00  p.m.
