While the St. Ursula Academy Arrows couldn't quite beat the Marian Mustangs on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 24-point defeat they were dealt last Saturday. St. Ursula Academy fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 36-33. While losing is never fun, St. Ursula Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 535th in Ohio, while the Mustangs are ranked 129th in Michigan).
Marian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Bingham, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Ruby Jansen, who scored nine points.
St. Ursula Academy are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13. As for Marian, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Divine Child the next time they take the court. Marian will head out to face Divine Child at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while St. Ursula Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
