The Katahdin Cougars will take on the Southern Aroostook Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Katahdin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Saturday, Katahdin made easy work of Madawaska and carried off an 11-2 victory. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Calvin Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conor Schmidt, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Young, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Katahdin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Wisdom hit Southern Aroostook with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 9-6 to the Pioneers.
Isaiah Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Southern Aroostook: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Kuindersma, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Katahdin's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Southern Aroostook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Southern Aroostook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Katahdin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407. It's a different story for Southern Aroostook, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Katahdin's hitters?
Everything went Katahdin's way against Southern Aroostook in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Katahdin made off with a 20-9 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
