The Loudon Redskins will square off against the Heritage Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Loudon's last matchup with Manatee could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Redskins lost 11-1 to the Hurricanes. The Redskins' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Loudon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Moore, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Heritage gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Seymour 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Hudson Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted over his last five contests.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gaven French, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only posted an OBP of .304.
Heritage's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Loudon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Loudon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Loudon came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mountaineers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
