Apache Junction is on a six-game streak of home losses, Tempe a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Having just played yesterday, the Apache Junction Prospectors will get right back to it and host the Tempe Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
Apache Junction suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 62-20 loss at the hands of Cortez. Apache Junction has not had much luck with Cortez recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Tempe beat Vista Grande 57-52 on Thursday.
Tempe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arthur Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nassir Cobbs, who scored 19 points.
Apache Junction's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Tempe, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
Apache Junction might still be hurting after the 68-44 defeat they got from Tempe in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Apache Junction avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
