The Frankford Pioneers will be playing at home against the Paul Robeson Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Frankford fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 51-47 victory over George Washington on Wednesday.
Frankford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameren Lane led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Lane hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Doron Ross, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Paul Robeson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Central by a score of 55-48.
Frankford's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Paul Robeson, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Frankford was able to grind out a solid victory over the Huskies in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 58-48. Will Frankford repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
