The West Jefferson Roughriders can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They really took it to Northeastern for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-19 win at home. The victory was just what West Jefferson needed coming off of a 60-20 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Northeastern still got an impressive performance from Danielle Phelan, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
West Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Northeastern, the last time they won on the road was back on Monday. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Jefferson will square off against Triad at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Triad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Wednesday. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Mechanicsburg at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mechanicsburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northeastern in Ohio (Mechanicsburg is ranked 85th, while Northeastern is ranked 598th).
