The Bennington Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Gross Catholic. The victory was just what Bennington needed coming off of a 69-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Bennington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Presley Baca led the charge by scoring 15 points. The matchup was Baca's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Bluhm, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Bennington's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Gross Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bennington will take on Concordia at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Concordia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Bennington is ranked 40th). As for Gross Catholic, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Blair at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th. Blair's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Gross Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for Gross Catholic.
