 A big part of Lamesa's  win came down to the chemistry between  Daniel Ramos and his top target  Cylius McCurley. Ramos threw for 337 yards and five  TDs while  McCurley picked up 143 receiving yards and four  scores.  Deev Lugo was another key player, rushing for 127 yards on only 15 carries.
 Meanwhile, River Road was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They were beaten by Gruver 54-6.
 River Road's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lamesa, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Thankfully for the Tornadoes,  Alex Warren (who rushed for 193 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
