The Mize Bulldogs were the 52-45 winner over the McLaurin Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Mize received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 67-53 to McLaurin. Mize has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Michael Wallace, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and six steals for McLaurin. The match was Wallace's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Kendell Clark was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Mize's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for McLaurin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mize will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for McLaurin, they will head out on the road to face off against Collins at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Collins is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.1 points per game.
