This season hasn't been kind to the Griffin Academy Griffins, who are still winless after their seventh match. They fell 52-41 to Arise on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Griffin Academy of the 48-46 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Griffin Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Bearrunner, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moises Nebalasca, who scored eight points.
Griffin Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Arise, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Griffin Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully John Henry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Wednesday. Arise does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
