Coffee has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Cartersville Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Coffee rose to the challenge on Friday. They didn't even let the Colonels onto the board and left with a 30-0 victory. Given Coffee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Cass is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Coffee's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Chris Reed and Mykevius Smith who racked up five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Cartersville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Jenkins 35-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Cartersville just coasted through the last quarter.
Cartersville can attribute much of their success to Khristian Lando, who rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns, and Andrew Purdy, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
