The Ironwood Eagles waltzed into their game Saturday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They snuck past Lehi with a 61-57 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Noah Gifft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. Jadden Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Ironwood's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Lehi, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironwood and Willow Canyon will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Willow Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Ironwood likes a good challenge. Lehi's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
