Volleyball Recap: Peshtigo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Algoma on Tuesday, Peshtigo came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Sturgeon Bay Clippers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Peshtigo started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-12.

Camryn Brissette paced Peshtigo's offense, picking up 22 kills. Brissette got some help from Skylyn Baxter and her 27 assists. Athena Powers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Peshtigo's loss dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Sturgeon Bay, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-25.

Coincidentally, Peshtigo and Sturgeon Bay will both be playing Kewaunee the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Storm at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Clippers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
