The High Point Academy Grizzlies will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully High Point Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
High Point Academy pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 81-58 walloping at the hands of Christ Church Episcopal. High Point Academy found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chris Copeland, who scored 18 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was DeAnthony Ross, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Brashier Middle College Charter put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-39 win over GREEN Upstate on the road. Brashier Middle College Charter pushed the score to 47-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Owls had little chance of recovering from.
High Point Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
High Point Academy strolled past the Bengal when the teams last played back in January by a score of 70-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Point Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
