The Meadows School Mustangs will challenge the Coronado Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The Meadows School took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over Chaparral. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Ethan Schneiderman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Hudson Falb was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carson Rinetti, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, while Coronado put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Clark. The Cougars came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 5-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like The Meadows School, Coronado also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Rogers. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Rogers also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coronado is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Rogers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ryder Metz looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Hudson Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Dillon Victoravich was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
The Meadows School's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 7-15.
