Northern Lebanon is 0-10 against the Pioneers since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northern Lebanon Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Northern Lebanon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Pioneers are ranked 176th).
Last Thursday, Northern Lebanon took a serious blow against the Crusaders, falling 63-36. Northern Lebanon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Lampeter-Strasburg came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Wyomissing by a score of 65-52. Lampeter-Strasburg pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lampeter-Strasburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Smucker, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 0 assists. Smucker is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Glick, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Northern Lebanon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Northern Lebanon was taken down by the Pioneers 63-32 when the teams last played back in January. Can Northern Lebanon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
