The Mt. Carmel Sundevils's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Mt. Carmel's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Mt. Carmel posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They breezed by San Pasqual on the road to the tune of 77-30. Given Mt. Carmel's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while San Pasqual is ranked 1079th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Gianni Bernabe, who scored 27 points along with two steals. Makai Orje was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westview beat Fallbrook 55-51 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westview.
The victory got Mt. Carmel back to even at 9-9. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Mt. Carmel didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Westview when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. Does Mt.
