Basketball Game Preview: Riverton Parke Panthers vs. Attica Red Ramblers

Riverton Parke and Attica are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Riverton Parke Panthers will welcome the Attica Red Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverton Parke knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Attica likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Riverton Parke strolled past Providence Cristo Rey with points to spare, taking the game 60-44. The Panthers pushed the score to 50-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Riverton Parke found their leader in sophomore Jonah Hopkins, who went 10 of 25 en route to 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hopkins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Collett Sanders, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Attica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by North Vermillion and fell 73-36. While losing is never fun, the Red Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Falcons are ranked 167th).

Riverton Parke has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Attica, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Riverton Parke strolled past Attica when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 75-56. Will Riverton Parke repeat their success, or does Attica have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
