Emmanuel Christian is a perfect 4-0 against Cardinal Stritch since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Maggie Woodward made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Woodward was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Ariella Morris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Shelby Shepherd was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Emmanuel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Stritch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 23-1 to Allen East. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cardinals couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cardinal Stritch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Emmanuel Christian, their record now sits at 9-6.
Cardinal Stritch's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Emmanuel Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Cardinal Stritch, though, as they've been averaging 21.8 hits. Given Emmanuel Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Cardinals will need to find a way to close that gap.
