Keene Central and Lake Placid are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Keene Central Beavers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lake Placid Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Thursday, Keene Central lost to Chazy on the road by a decisive 46-27 margin. While losing is never fun, Keene Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 690th, while Chazy is ranked 299th).
Meanwhile, Lake Placid's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 41-16 defeat at the hands of Schroon Lake. Lake Placid was down 33-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Lake Placid saw an underclassman step up: Danna Perez scored six points along with 11 rebounds. Perez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.
Keene Central dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.9 points per game. As for Lake Placid, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Keene Central couldn't quite finish off Lake Placid in their previous meeting back in January and fell 26-24. Will Keene Central have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
