Windsor has won four straight games at home, while Cardinal Newman has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Jaguars will host the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Windsor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Windsor barely beat Analy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars blew past the Tigers 19-7 on Tuesday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Windsor let Demi Lagourgue and Taylor Ford run wild. Lagourgue went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Ford went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave Ford a new career-high. Alyssa Rivers was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Analy only posted an OBP of .406.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman got themselves on the board against Maria Carrillo on Tuesday, but Maria Carrillo never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pumas 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted against the Pumas since May 5, 2022.
The result came thanks to Callie Howard's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Nicole DiMarco was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Cardinal Newman is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Both Windsor and Cardinal Newman just can't seem to miss. The Jaguars have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Cardinal Newman struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windsor came out on top in a nail-biter against Cardinal Newman in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
