The Classical Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Alameda since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Titans will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
The Classical Academy's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Denver West's usually-dominant defense. The Titans claimed a resounding 41-8 victory over the Cowboys. Considering the Titans have won four games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Jackson Schipfer, who rushed for 140 yards and two scores on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gustafson, who picked up 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Classical Academy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Denver West to a completion percentage of just 38.1%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Gustafson, Josiah Musilli, Zach Mediavilla, and Johnny Howe, who each logged one passes deflected. The Classical Academy wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.
Special teams played a big role in the game for The Classical Academy, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mediavilla, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alameda). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Mitchell 48-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Alameda's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for The Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for The Classical Academy against Alameda when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-0 victory. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
