It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Colquitt County Packers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 51-25 margin over Parkview. Colquitt County's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colquitt County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neko Fann, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Fann was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Day'shawn Brown, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Parkview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryce Coulson, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Cooper Frank who threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns.
Colquitt County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 10-2 Lee County and 10-2 Stockbridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.2% over those games). As for Parkview, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Colquitt County will play host again and welcome Westlake, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Parkview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
