Last Friday, everything came up roses for Sunrise Christian Academy Silver on the road against Wichita Defenders HomeSchool as the team secured a 73-41 victory. Given Sunrise Christian Academy Silver's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Wichita Defenders HomeSchool is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sunrise Christian Academy Silver's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tomoyuki Kobari, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kobari has scored all season. Tomohito Kobari was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Wichita HomeSchool was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Veritas Christian 73-29 on the road.
Sunrise Christian Academy Silver is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Wichita HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
Sunrise Christian Academy Silver won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January, slipping by Wichita HomeSchool 68-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunrise Christian Academy Silver since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
