Ville de Marie Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 76-44 victory over Sequoia Charter on the road.
Ville de Marie Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Dwyer, who scored 30 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Simon Lowicki was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Sequoia Charter's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Asher Roehl, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mateo Gomez, who scored 12 points.
Ville de Marie Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sequoia Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ville de Marie Academy will take on Arrowhead Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Arrowhead Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Monday. As for Sequoia Charter, they will be playing at home against American Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
