The Piedmont Highlanders will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Newark Memorial Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Piedmont has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 135 points over their last three matches.
Piedmont can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They blew past American 52-30.
Piedmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Markos Lagios led the charge by throwing for 261 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Tommy Ashton, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Newark Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 14-6 to Arroyo.
Piedmont's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Newark Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
