Solebury is 0-5 against Friends' Central since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Solebury Spartans will head out on the road to face off against Friends' Central at 4:15 p.m. One thing working in Solebury's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Even though The City School scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, Solebury still came out on top. Solebury walked away with a 66-59 win over The City School.
Solebury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makhai Anderson, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Another player making a difference was Tyler Simpson, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, Friends' Central faced Hill School in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Friends' Central fell just short of Hill School by a score of 67-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Friends' Central has suffered yet this season.
Solebury has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Friends' Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
Solebury came up short against Friends' Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 65-60. Can Solebury avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
